- - - A NOTE FROM THE AUTHOR - - -
The 4th of July is approaching quickly and it gets me all emotional thinking about Independence Day.
I love the red, white, and blue decorations, the American flag fruit pizza, my kids decked out in Stars and Stripes, and I absolutely love the fireworks!
The day is usually filled with patriotic themed meals, smoky grilled burgers covered in cheese, swimming until your skin is pruny, and loud laughter with cousins and friends.
That is all so great, but what really gets me is those patriotic songs during the fireworks reminding us of the freedom that was won, and has been defended over and over again by bloodshed and victory.
Celebrating our freedom as a country is a wonderful honor and privilege. I am so grateful for the men and women who have fought and died for our freedoms. But before them, there was One who died to redeem all mankind.
Will you join me this week as we reflect and show gratitude for true freedom, our freedom in Christ?
